Message from the Principal

Welcome to Northcote Primary – a school with a proud 140-year history, but boy have we come a long way since 1874!

Our school is located in the vibrant inner-north suburb of Northcote, just tucked away from the hustle and bustle of High Street and the 86-tram line. A gentle stroll from the Northcote Town Hall and the Northcote Train Station. If you listen closely, you can hear the ding of an e-class from one side of the playground or the train sound its horn as it crosses Arthurton Road from the other.

Our school values guide our work and are at the core of everything we do at Northcote Primary School.

Respect – We value and respect ourselves, others, learning and the planet.  We strive to demonstrate this in our behaviour, thoughts, actions and words. We recognise and respect that we are all learners and that we all learn in different ways.

Collaboration – We value working together in partnership to give everyone in the community a voice and agency. Teachers take a shared responsibility for all students and work in professional learning communities (PLC) to provide a differentiated learning program and to support every child with point-of-need teaching.

Community – We pride ourselves on a strong and united school community. We recognise positive relationships as being the foundation of our school. We welcome students, staff, families and friends by promoting a sense of belonging and school pride and by sharing, working and learning together.

As a school we are doing lots of great work and we are always challenging ourselves to keep improving. If you would like to find out more information about our school, please do not hesitate to call the office to arrange a tour or to speak to someone about how to enrol.
