Policy and Finance Committee - Convener is Karen Rush

The development of policies occurs in the Policy and Finance sub-committees and the committee ensures that good policies are in place. Policies are then put to the school community for comment via the newsletter before final consideration by School Council.
This committee also considers the available resources for the school and where they are best directed. Policy & Finance make recommendations to School Council and are responsible for monitoring the financial health of the school in terms of its cash budget.

This committee is primarily concerned with maintain a safe, attractive, functional, school physical environment.
The Buildings and Grounds committee also develop a vision and corresponding staged plans for the school buildings and playground areas.
It is the umbrella group for other project environmental groups such as 'Development of the Junior Playground Committee'; ' The Gardening Group'; 'Sustainable School practices'; 'The Canteen Group'; etc.

Another very important committee who plan the events and manage the organisation for raising funds for important school projects, large and small.
For example; purchase set of new footy jumpers; fund the replacement of the Junior School Playground; Landscape the school grounds; organise and run the school annual fete; contribute funds for a computer laboratory in the Library etc.

This is a newly reformed and redefined committee primarily concerned with developing strategies to promote the school to its own community, and to the broader community. The committee will also work in with the K-P Transition group to assist with promoting the school to prospective prep parents.
The group will also source appropriate grants for our school to access, and coordinate applications appropriate to school goals.

Another hardworking subcommittee who look after the Northcote Outside of Hours School Program or NOOSHP as it is fondly known, including the program's activities, physical environment and financial operations.
This program has continued to offer high quality care for our children and has had some major work done to improve the building and facilities.

This is a forum to provide an informal atmosphere for parents to meet to discuss educational issues, express opinions, discuss concerns of a general nature.

Northcote Primary School belongs to the Northcote Network of Schools which aims to provide cooperation between schools in the Northcote area, establish more effective school community relationships and promote curricula that pursue excellence for all children.

The Junior School Council is a voice for the students of Northcote Primary School. Its members represent their classrooms, organise fundraiser and consider issues that concern the children at school.
